Ahead of the First Concentrated Solar Thermal Power Summit India, CSP Today catches up with José Javier González from ABENER, who will be speaking at the Summit.
CSP Today: What are the opportunities for the companies that are part of CSP in India?
José Javier González: India is currently developing a specific control on thermo solar power which undoubtedly will bring about significant opportunities in every field (promotion, manufacturing, building, facilities, research and development).
CSP Today: What is your opinion about how the New Solar Mission will change CSP industry on a global level?
José Javier González: The program planned in India offers two very important aspects; it is a long-term program and it includes a significant capacity to be installed. Both of these aspects will contribute to the economy of scale of the equipments and materials of CSP power plants worldwide.
CSP Today: What is the main challenge for CSP developers in India? And how can we get the maximum power?
José Javier González: Adapting the IPP model of business into the specific characteristics of the country with the intervention of different administrative levels (central, national), and with a regulatory model that remains to be set.
CSP Today: How will the 1st CSP Today Concentrated Solar Thermal Power Summit in India help to the development of the industry?
José Javier González: A forum where CSP experiences from all over the world are presented regarding regulatory and development aspects, building, manufacturing, financing… Undoubtedly, it will provide all the visitors with a vision that will be helpful to establish opportunities and make them viable.
CSP Today: Why do you participate as a speaker in the event? What will you talk about during your speech?
José Javier González: ABENER is an enterprise that has been participating regularly in these events and we think that we have interesting experiences to share with all the participants. As our experience is focused on building, our approach will be towards aspects of EPC constructors (Engineering, Procurement, Construction).
